The Town of Leyden Massachusetts was founded in 1809 and is located in Franklin County. The town was named for a town in Holland.

Leyden contains about 800 year round residents.

Famous sons of Leyden include John Riddell who was the inventor of the binocular microscope, and Henry Kirke Brown who was the sculpture of the Washington and Lincoln statues at West Point and in the Capitol.
